TH&B gondola 2623 taken in Agincourt Yard, February 1999. Jeff Semper
writes: "As you can see from the photos they are still in good shape
and obviously still in revenue service. Unfortunately that year there
was also snow, which hides the truck areas on the gons, but hey this is
Canada!" Jeff Semper photo.

Mark H. Hymers sends us this great character study of a TH&B boxcar. Mark
writes: "The TH&B was always something special to see.
Big time railroading with class and a relief for Canadian fans when the
only other choice usually were CNR or CPR. Take your pick! I remember as
a young railfan being delighted while watching trains at Bayview to see
a TH&B passenger train complete with traditional heavyweights and gold
lettering pass by."
"All I can offer though is this lowly black & white shot of
a TH&B boxcar I took in 1967 in Elmira, Ontario. That was of course
on the CPR's Goderich branch. My father told me years ago that occasionally
a TH&B engine was used over that line instead of a CPR engine ...
as you know and the Goderich line connected directly with Hamilton via
Guelph Junction."

Adrian Telizyn writes:
I shot these gons in the back track at Thompson on the CP Thompson Sub
on New Year's eve 1997. They were assigned to an American crane (probably
the Kamloops one) that was picking up OTM with a magnet. I am a regular on Hwy 97/1 between my home in Ft. St. John and my in-laws
in Maple Ridge - and always will stop for TH&B equipment. Whenever I can hold a yard job in North Vancouver I frequently run into
THB gons in copper service when we pull and spot Vancouver Wharves. We
used to see THB 1500 series covered hoppers and their CPLX renumberings
in potash sevice at the Wharves too, however BCR Marine lost that contract
to Portland and now that traffic moves via Lethbridge and Kingsgate.
I am also a regular in CP's PoCo yard - hunting down the ex THB crane.
The Trackside Guide insists it's there! I have my doubts.
